Faulty AfiFeed Devices

Calibration or communication issues with AfiFeed can impact the accurate dispensation of cow allocations.

AfiFeed Malfunctions section is divided into sites tabs; each tab represents one or multiple cow yards (or milking parlors).

Red - Indicates a fault in the most recently ended session.

Yellow - Indicates faults that occurred in one of the previous sessions, but not the last sessions that ended.

Green - Indicates no faults occurred.

AfiFeed (Dashboard for In-Parlor feed configurations)

AfiFeed (Dashboard for Out-of-Parlor feed configurations)

Three possible fault indications are presented for each yard:

  • Feeders Malfunctions (out of parlor feeders only) – indicates faults with the feeder, usually critical malfunctions affecting the ability of feeders to dispense feed to cows.

  • Calibration Needed – displays alerts when routine scheduled calibration is due. Calibrations are required when a new feed delivery starts running through the system OR once every alternate week. Calibration is required for maintaining feed dispense accuracy.

Calibration Needed indication is accompanied by the calibration icon . By default, the icon is green. A red icon is displayed if more than 20 days have passed since the last calibration. The number near the icon shows the number of days passed since last calibration.

  • Communication Fault – displays communication faults with the controllers. AfiFeed uses two types of controllers for operating the feeders (ID controller & Feed Controller). Communication seizures with either controller stops all feeder operations.
